How to prepare vella saadham
Ingredients Required:
1) Boiled Rice 1 1/2 cup(one and half cup)2) Cashews - 50 Gms
3) Dry grapes - 50 Gms
4) Ghee -1/4 Kg
5)Milk- 1/2 cup
6)Jaggery-3 cups
Steps for Making Vella Saadham:
Step 1: Heat some water in the kadai and add the Jaggery to it to prepare the 'paahu'Step 2: Boil the mixture until the jagerry dissolves completely.
Step 3: Once it becomes thick add the boiled rice to it .Add 2 spoons of ghee and gently stir
Step 4:After 5 minutes add half a cup milk for flavor(This is optional)
Step 5:Fry the cashew and dry dates in the ghee.
Step 6: Add the cashew and dry dates mixture to the rice.
This is an easy 'neivedhyam' to offer to God during auspicious days and simple to prepare even on working days!!
